IAN J. McKNIGHT
I believe in government that works for people. From Upper West Side poll sites to the Detroit suburbs to more than a dozen state capitols, I've done my level best to make it a reality. When Michigan's unemployment insurance system collapsed under the weight of a pandemic, I helped scores of working families get the benefits to which they were entitled as the director of constituent services for then-Rep. Darrin Camilleri. In 2021, I moved to New York (because the sandwiches are better and you don't need a car) and took the show on the road with the folks at Indigov to set up constituent-facing staff across the country for success.More recently, I've been working at the intersection of legislative casework and oversight at the Levin Center.I'm also a tower bell ringer, a volunteer income tax preparer, a third-generation election worker, and a licensed New York City tour guide. And, yes, I'm proficient in Microsoft Office (and weirdly great with mail merge).
